    Most of Oak Class enjoyed making poppy 'wood cookies' for Remembrance Day. They remembered how to keep safe around the bow saw. Some of the children chose to build dens, and others used the 'scramble' net.

  • Sycamore Class 9.11.21

    Sycamore enjoyed making 'wood cookies' today. Some of the children painted them so that they would look like poppies for Remembrance Day. The children also used the new hand drill, and were excited to see how quickly they could drill a hole into their 'wood cookies'. 

    The class also used the 'scramble net', and some of the children used clay to make animals. They all enjoyed playing a group game at the end of the session and were thinking strategically.

  • Willow Class 4.11.21

    Willow Class showed great determination in making the fire today! A group of children persevered with fire lighting so that the class could cook marshmallows on the main campfire. Some of the children also made dens to shelter from the cold, and others went tree climbing. All of the children were busy and focused on their own activities and none of them complained about the cold weather!

    Apple Class enjoyed den building, fire lighting and using the 'scramble' net today. Some of the children were using rulers to measure sticks, and then they turned the sticks into 'stick men and women'. We also played a few group games, one of which was a game made up by a child.

  • Oak Class 3.11.21

    Oak Class enjoyed fire lighting today. Most of the children tried it, and they used the fire steels to light cotton wool on a shell. Some of the children built animal homes, whilst others used the 'scramble' net. The children also enjoyed climbing trees. It was a shorter session than normal as we went to the church for worship.

  • Rainbows 22.10.21

    Rainbows enjoyed making wands in Forest School today. Some of the children tried whittling 'green' wood using peelers. They paid close attention when listening to the safety talk at the beginning of the session. The children were also fascinated with the 'scramble' net, and some of them had a go at climbing on it. All of the children were busy and engaged throughout the session.

  • Willow Class 21.10.21

    Willow Class enjoyed completing lots of different activities today. Some of the children were hunting for worms, and building a 'hotel' for them. Lots of the children enjoyed den building and creating performances in them. The tools were also used to split wood and crack chestnuts. It was lovely to see the variety of activities that were taking place, and the children's imaginative play was fantastic!

    Apple Class really enjoyed trying the baked bananas and chocolate today. We cooked them on the fire, and they were delicious! Some of the children tried fire lighting, and others were happy making clay models and using the wool to make decorations. Most of the children were excited to use the 'scramble net', and we ended the session with a group game.

  • Oak Class 20.10.21

    Oak Class were using the 'bow' saw today to make 'wood cookies'. They decorated the 'wood cookies' using pens. Some of the children wanted to put their 'wood cookie' creations in the classroom prayer area. After cutting the wood, most of the children were playing on the 'scramble' net, and some were using the wool to decorate crosses they had made out of sticks. The children were very creative today, and were all busy making things or playing.

  • Sycamore Class 20.10.21

    Sycamore enjoyed using the knives to whittle wood into pencils and wands. Coben used the palm drill to make a hole in his whittled wood so that he could put charcoal in it to make it into a pencil. Some of the children tried to light the fire, but unfortunately the weather stopped them from doing this. The children did enjoy having hot chocolate and lots of them were using the 'scramble net'.
