Rainbows had an exciting Forest School session today. All of the children had a go at using the bow saw to cut 'wood cookies' (discs of wood to be made into medals). They also really enjoyed using the rope swing, and some of them were interested in finding insects, and building homes for them.

Rainbows were very sensible throughout the session, and followed the safety rules when using the bow saw and the swing!

Apple Class had a great session in Forest School today. The children really enjoyed making popcorn on the main campfire, they were fascinated with watching the corn kernels pop. Some of the children helped to make a rope swing, and others were interested in making clay animals. Mrs Wood took groups of children to the 'bank' to go tree climbing, and others enjoyed playing some of our Forest School team games.

Beech Class enjoyed a sunny afternoon in Forest School today. Some of the children went off in groups to build shelters using the tarps. One of the tarps kept sinking in the middle, so they decided to attach a paracord to the centre of the tarp, and hoisted it up by tying it to a tree. Some of the girls tried whittling with the knives, whilst others used the Kelly Kettles to boil water. All of the children were engaged in Forest School activities, and it was lovely to see them demonstrating teamwork and resilience.

Oak Class enjoyed a lovely, sunny morning in Forest School today. Most of the children either tried tree climbing or fire lighting, and others made miniature Titanic ships or boats. The children were very excited to find a sand lizard and other mini beasts.
