Apple Class enjoyed hunting for blackberries today. They were using the blackberries to make pretend jam and soup. Some of the children mixed in other natural 'ingredients' with them. A little group decided to go tree climbing, and some of the other children tried fire lighting using the shells and Kelly Kettles. It was a lovely, warm session, and the children were busy exploring their own lines of enquiry.

Oak Class had a really creative Forest School session today. A lot of the children made clay fairytale characters, and Emilia even made a home for her 'Tinker Bell'. All of the children wanted to climb trees and explore the bank. They were fascinated with the holes that they found, and enjoyed guessing which animals had made them.

Sycamore were lucky with the weather today and managed to avoid the rain! They enjoyed playing a new group game called 'giants, wizards and elves' and worked well as a team. After, some of the children chose to whittle wood and use 'palm drills' to make a pencil holder, and some of the girls made a fairy den. The children were very independent,  and selected tools that they would need to carry out specific jobs.

I was really impressed with the resilience Beech class demonstrated today! It was a very wet session, but I didn't hear a single complaint! The children were all busy completing different activities. Some of them whittled wood, others were weaving wool, and a group of boys put on a comedy show. All of the children took part in some group games (so we could warm up), and they played a new game called 'giants, wizards and elves'. It was lovely to see everyone engaged and focused.

Willow loved exploring the woods today to find blackberries. Some of the children used the blackberries to make 'jam' and 'soup', and some of the children mashed them up to make paint and ink. Louis and Charlie found a feather, and dipped it into the blackberry 'ink' so that they could write with it. The children also enjoyed tree climbing, fire lighting, and some of the girls created tickets for an 'amusement park'. All of the children were busy and engaged, and had lots of creative ideas!

Apple Class enjoyed the Forest School session today, despite the weather! Some of the children were fire lighting, others were building their own Forest School, and some chose tree climbing. Some of the girls were interested in the blackberries, so they picked them, and were pretending to cook with them using our new pans. The children were very creative, and it was lovely to see them engaged and busy.

Oak Class had a lovely session today! The sun was shining for them! The children had a walk around the woods to collect natural objects that could be used to make a character from their favourite story. They had a snack, and then had some free time.  Some of the children chose to do fire lighting, and others played with our cuddly woodland animals.

The children remembered all of the Forest School rules, and were able to talk about them in detail at the start of the session. Well done Oak class!

Sycamore enjoyed a nice, sunny Forest School session today. They played a group game up on the 'bank', and then they mainly focused on whittling and fire lighting. Some of the girls made a bench and a seesaw, whilst others enjoyed using the rope swing.

It was the first Forest School session back today, and what lovely weather we had! The children enjoyed playing a group game to start, and then a lot of them decided to whittle sticks using knives. Harry-Joe used the secateurs to separate the wood, and Archie started carving a heart shape out of a wood cookie he had made using the bow saw. Some of the children built a 'hotel', whilst others were content playing their own games using the equipment they could find in the Forest School site.
