Reading Challenge to be Launched!
Reading Challenge launched at St. Matthews.
In Achievement Worship this afternoon, the new reading challenge will be launched across the school.
You will notice that a 'racetrack' has appeared at the back of your child's yellow reading record. This is part of a new reading reward scheme. Each week, your child's class teacher will check your child's yellow reading record to see how many times they have read at home. When they have read 5 times, they will move your child along the track, with a signature or a sticker. Along the track there are different prizes for reaching different goals. Once your child has received that goal, they will receive that particular prize in sharing worship on the following Friday. Children who read little and often, tend to make the most progress so we would like to encourage as many children as possible to read as often as possible. They will only be allowed to move along the track if their reading is recorded in their reading record books and signed by an adult. We thank you for your continued support in this. If you have any questions about this, please speak to your child's class teacher. Good Luck St. Matthew's!
