Today, the children from St. Matthew's celebrated World Book Day. They came to school dressed in their fabulous character costumes and spent the day completing a range of different activities. This year's focus was on a book called 'The Crown' by Emily Kapff. It is a poem/picture book which emphasises the role we need to take in looking after our planet for future generations. The children had an assembly this morning, were they listened to this story and the meaning behind it. Then they completed three activities; making nature crowns, creating their own stories through artwork and re-enacting the story through drama and dance. The children also had an opportunity to share their favourite stories with their friends. The children have had a fun day.
