The children and staff at St. Matthew's celebrated World Book Day yesterday through the theme of 'Pleasure for Reading'. We had a real focus on our favourite books and what we enjoy about reading. The children were asked to dress up as their favourite character and at the same time, bring in their favourite book from home.  We were amazed by the costumes and everyone looked fantastic. They then had opportunities to share their books with their special friends in the library, hideout and reading hut. They also carried out activities in the classroom and in forest school for those who had it, linked to advertising their books and persuading others to read them.
