Wow!! What an eventful Forest School session! It started off a bit damp this afternoon but the weather picked up ( momentarily). Some of the children were interested in making wood cookies by cutting silver birch wood using the bow saw. Others made wands and played wizard games (linked to their Harry Potter topic). Then all of a sudden out of nowhere it began to hail. The children were excited and fascinated by the hail and sheltered under the trees until we heard a rumble of thunder. Once this happened we had to move indoors as it was no longer safe for us to be outside. The ground had a blanket of white hailstones on it, it really was a sight to behold!
